Flying, diving, and traveling are the things that get my MOJO workin!

As a kid, my family did not travel much. Our vacations were always to Oklahoma except for one Vegas vacation when I was 14. In fact, I had never seen the ocean before I turned 19; it was love at first site.

When I was 19, I went to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with my girlfriend and her family. After we landed, and after collecting our luggage at the carousel, we rented the vehicles then left to get groceries for the week. I still had not seen the ocean.

After spending an hour or so in the grocery store, we were finally on our way to the house that sat on the beach. The entire ride I could only think of how excited I was to see the ocean for the first time. I was not disappointed!

When we arrived at the house, the first thing I noticed was that it sat on stilts. An entire house lifted up on stilts. I thought “wow, this is crazy”. Being from Colorado, Oklahoma originally, I had never seen such a thing. Still had not seen the ocean except for brief glimpses through trees on our drive.

We unpacked the groceries and since there was about 20 of us, there were plenty of hands to help get all groceries in with just one trip. I walked in, sat my groceries down, then headed straight for the back door. I opened the door and….BAM!! There it was. Right out the back door at the end of the elevated deck, there was the Atlantic Ocean.

I couldn’t believe it. I will never forget the feeling I had. It was truly love at first site. No, not a perverted love like people who marry their horse, or their dog, or whatever…I mean a love as in, knowing right then, in that instance, that you had been living in the wrong places your whole life. I was meant to be on the ocean.

I made a beeline back into the house to put my swim trunks on and straight back outside, down the steps, and off into the water. AWESOME!

Since that vacation in Myrtle Beach (which is still to this day one of my favorite places), I have seen some amazing things, had awesome adventures, learned to dive, cruised, hiked Mayan Ruins, and lots more. I have even found my second love- aviation.

I enjoy adventure. I enjoy doing things that not everyone gets to do. I love seeing new places, flying new airplanes, and diving with cool marine life. I have future travel goals, future diving goals, and future aviation goals; I want to share all that with you as I improve as a person, diver, pilot, and traveler.

Not only will I share my experiences moving forward, but will also share my experiences from the past. Hopefully, I can inspire others to do these same things.

The World is a big place, and we are only here for a short period of time. Make the best of it!
